Комплекс работ, обеспечивающих поддержание исправного состояния транспортного морского судна, и выполняемый без вывода судна из эксплуатации.
Техническое обслуживание заключается в выполнении работ, обеспечивающих проверку установочных размеров и регулировку; выявление и устранение неисправностей судовых технических средств и конструкций; замену изношенных или вышедших из строя деталей, узлов и механизмов. Техническое обслуживание и ремонт судов осуществляется по планово-предупредительной системе.
