  • 2 the Never-Never Country

...his father (in a burst of fatherly kindness, I suppose) made him a present of the old horse and a new pair of blucher boots, and I gave him an old saddle and a coat, and he started for the Never-Never country. (H. Lawson, ‘Joe Wilson’, ‘Water Them Geraniums’) —...

I want to die and go with him to the Never-Never Country parson tells us about up there!

"Pop" is with us for good, in one form or another. Only when society finally eliminates the problems of personal relationships will songs redirect their attitudes to "grander" themes. And that seems a bit of a never-never land to me.

  • 3 Lee, Jack

    1913-2002
Robbery Under Arms. 1957. 83 minutos. Eastmancolor. J. Arthur Rank. David McCallum, Ronald Lewis, Peter Finch, Jill Ireland.
