    фінансовий показник, що встановлює відношення величини прибутку на акцію (earnings per share) на даний звітний період (accounting period) до величини поточної ринкової ціни (market price) акції; обчислюється за формулою:
    earnings yield = (earnings per share ÷ market price per share) × 100
    ♦ за показником прибутковості оцінюється норма прибутку (rate of return), досягнута підприємством; напр., якщо прибуток на акцію дорівнює 3 грн, а ринкова ціна акції 10 грн, то прибутковість акції становить 30 % (3:10)

    фін., бірж. коефіцієнт ціна/прибуток; відношення ціни до прибутку фінансовий показник, що встановлює відношення величини ринкової ціни (market price) акції до величини заявленого або передбаченого прибутку на акцію (earnings per share); має таку формулу підрахунку:
    price earnings ratio = market price of a share ÷ earnings per share
    ♦ за цим коефіцієнтом оцінюється потенційний приріст вартості підприємства на фондовій біржі; високе значення коефіцієнта вказує на сприятливі умови для зростання прибутку
