Предельная норма налогообложения
Налоговая ставка, которую налогоплательщик обязан выплатить с каждой дополнительной единицы своего дохода. В условиях системы прогрессивного налогообложения, например, если лицо имеет доход в Ј15 тыс. и платит с этой суммы тридцатипроцентную налоговую ставку, а ставка на доход, превышаю щий Ј15 тыс. - 40%, тогда предельная норма налогообложения на доход в Ј15001 составляет 40%. Это означает, что налогоплательщик выплачивает налог с каждого дополнительно заработанного фунта по более высокой ставке. Так, например, в Великобритании в 60-70-е годы существовали очень высокие предельные налоговые ставки - до 98%. Противники такой системы исходили из того, что богатые люди лишались стимула работать, однако эмпирические данные, подтверждающие это предположение, отсутствуют. См.
