This has been possible because of innovation and a willingness to learn from history. Understanding historical connections between products, technology and industrial economics is extremely Partners in technology New challenges to a history of cooperation with customers George A. Fodor, Sten Linder, Jan-Erik Ibstedt, Lennart Thegel, Fredrik Norlund, Håkan Wintzell, Jarl Sobel important when planning future technologies and innovations. These connections rely on information channels in companies and their existence cannot be underestimated if a company is to survive. An organization can acquire more information than any one individual, and the optimal use of this information depends on the existence and types of communication channels between those working in a company and the relevant people outside it. Force Measurement, a division of ABB AB, has a long tradition of innovation. Thanks to strong ties with its customers, suppliers, research institutes and universities, Force Measurement provides state-of-the-art equipment for accurate and reliable measurement and control in a broad range of applications. At the same time, established principles such as Maxwell’s equations continue to be applied in new and surprisingly innovative ways to produce products that promote long-term growth and increased competitiveness. Innovation is a key factor if companies and their customers are to survive what can only be called truly testing times. The target of innovation is to find and implement ideas that reshape industries, reinvent markets and redesign value chains, and many of these ideas come from innovative customers. Key to successful innovation is communication or the types of information channels employed by firms [1, 2]. A global company like ABB, with offices and factories spanning 90 countries, faces many challenges in maintaining information channels. First of all, there are the internal challenges. Ideas need to be evaluated from many different perspectives to determine their overall impact on the market. Selecting the most effective ones requires expertise and teamwork from the various business, marketing and technology competence groups. Just as important are the channels of communication that exist between ABB, and its customers and suppliers. Many of ABB’s customers come from countries that are gradually developing strong technology and scientific cultures thanks to major investments in very ambitious research programs. China and India, for example, are two such countries. In fact, the Chinese Academy of Sciences is currently conducting research projects in all state of-the-art technologies. Countries in Africa and Eastern Europe are capitalizing on their pool of young talent to create a culture of technology development. Emerging markets, while welcome, mean stiffer competition, and competition to companies like ABB encourages even greater levels of innovationМногие заказчики АББ пришли из стран, постоянно развивающих сильную технологию и научную культуру путем крупных инвестиций в грандиозные исследовательские программы. Many customers, similar stories Backed by 120 years of technological development and experience, ABB continues to produce products and services in many automation, power generation and robotics fields, and the examples described in the following section illustrate this broad customer range. (27 mai 2005)Russon Wooldridge, founder of the NEF, professor emeritus, University of Toronto: "The Dictionnaire du NEF deals with various aspects of the internet and digital technologies in general, and is destined for a public of media professionals and academics. Ms. Lebert’s contributions to the NEF are of great importance, and have gathered much critical attention. The most prestigious library in the francophone world, the Bibliothèque nationale de France, makes note, in its parsimoniously granted bookmarks (Signets) of online resources, of the Net des études françaises and in particular the Dictionnaire du NEF." (24 January 2005)Peter Raggett, head of the Centre for Documentation and Information of OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development): "I have seen the dictionary of terms on the internet and new technology that Ms. Lebert produced for the Net des études françaises. This work is very useful for any francophone information and media workers as it explains terms and acronyms which appear in their fields. It is professionally produced, informative and contains hyperlinks to a number of other relevant internet sites." (4 February 2005)Jean-Paul, webmaster of the hypermedia website cotres.net: "The constant features of Marie Lebert’s research are: (a) the close attention she pays to the problem of multilingualism on the internet, and the associated one of translation; from her stems my own interest in the subject; (b) the regularity with which she presents internet tools for visually handicapped users; (c) her firm resolve to make available to all various means of understanding the new technologies of information and communication (cf. Dictionnaire du NEF). In the Dictionnaire du NEF can be seen once again the principles that have always guided Marie in this exciting period: freely available to all, with a single click, are an overall view, indicating points of interest, and a zoom in to make sure we don’t get lost in this vast territory, giving us access to a comprehensive and clear atlas." (8 February 2005)Marie-Joseph Pierre, director at the Ecole pratique des hautes études (EPHE), Paris-Sorbonne: "A longtime frequent user of new technologies and an academic, I have just discovered Marie Lebert’s remarkable Dictionnaire du NEF, which has recently been selected as one of the Bibliothèque nationale de France’s first bookmarks. Its 700 entries give users, new and experienced alike, a clear picture of the constant changes in the technically difficult area of computers and online computing. It is, as far as I am aware, a tool without equal, written in a clear language, uncluttered and to the point. It would be good for it to be translated, at least into English. I have recommended it to my students, often lost in the maze of acronyms and software." (4 March 2005)Henri Slettenhaar, executive director of the Silicon Valley Association (SVA), Switzerland: "I have known Marie Lebert since ten years, during which she has been a member of the Silicon Valley Association. Our association primarily organizes study tours to areas of high tech concentration such as Silicon Valley. Ms. Lebert has been an extremely valuable source of advice, in particular in novel developments in information technology. She has participated in several study tours. I am impressed by Ms. Lebert’s technical knowledge of a broad range of subjects, and her skills as a writer. I have the highest esteem for her academic qualifications and experience, in particular in multilingualism, internet and digital media applications." (30 April 2005)17 Mondragon cooperative
Gen Mgta large, worker-ownership movement based in the town of Mondragon, in the Basque region of northwest Spain. The Mondragon cooperative movement started in 1956, and was founded on the teachings of Jose Maria Arizmendietta. It consists of worker-owned businesses, supported by a savings bank that raises money for the cooperative enterprises. Mondragon is not part of the traditional cooperative movement, and is instead based on ten principles: equality of opportunity; the democratic election of managers; sovereignty of labor; a requirement for capital to be used by labor rather than labor used by capital; participative management; low pay differentials; cooperation with other cooperative movements; social change; solidarity with those working for peace, justice, and development; and education.18 семинар СМИ по Олимпийскому движению

Olympic movement media seminar
Key means of ensuring that the Olympic Charter obligations are met is the host city’s organization of an Olympic media seminar. The seminar, to be held in the host city, seeks to inform local media (whether national or foreign correspondents) about the Olympic movement, Olympic sports and other issues that pertain to the preparation and organization of the Games. The seminar will include IOC briefings with regard to the principles of Olympism, and must be planned and executed in close cooperation with the IOC communications department.
