(PPP) (паритет покупательной способности) Паритет двух валют при таком обменном курсе (rate of exchange), который способен наделить каждую из них абсолютно одинаковой покупательной способностью в собственной стране. Концепция, согласно которой обменные курсы стремятся к отражению паритетов покупательной способности, возникла еще в 17 в., но по крайней мере в применении к краткосрочным периодам она оказалась неверной (см.: overshooting (чрезмерный рост/“пересол”)).
