1921-2001Nacido en El Cairo, Roger Kay es, ante todo, director de television, con escasisimas incursiones en el lar gometraje cinematografico. Realiza, por ejemplo, al gunas entregas de la famosa serie Los intocables (The Untou chables), que tambien produce, a finales de los 50. Uno de sus tres largometrajes, The Ca binet of Caligari, utiliza el titulo de la famosa pelicula expresionista, de la que no es un remake sino un subproducto de terror barato. 6 Newman, Joseph M.
1909-2006Nacido en Logan, Utah, se inicia en el cine como ayudante de direccion, aunque la mayoria de las veces sin la correspondiente acreditacion. Empieza a dirigir peliculas, siempre de bajo presupuesto, en 1938. En los comienzos de los anos 50 consigue, con Fox, presupuestos algo mas amplios, que le hacen lograr sus peliculas mas destacadas. Newman pertenece a la larga nomina de solidos realizadores norteamericanos, capaces de abordar con solvencia cualquier genero, sin genialidades pero, tambien, sin estridencias. Su filmografia, en lo relativo al western contiene un punado de atractivas peliculas entre las que hay que recordar especialmente The Outcasts of Poker Flat, que tiene como soporte literario el magnifico relato de Brett Harte.Northwest Rangers. 1942. 64 minutos.
