92 Whistler, James Abbott McNeil
Coast Survey] в г. Начал свою карьеру как художник-реалист (картины "У рояля" ["At the Piano"] и "Голубая волна" ["The Blue Wave"]). Среди наиболее известных произведений: "Симфония в белом номер 2; девушка в белом" ["The Little White Girl: Symphony in White No. 2"] (1864), "Г-жа Джордж Вашингтон Уистлер" ["Mrs. Старый мост в Баттерси" ["Nocturne in Blue and Gold: Old Battersea Bridge"] (1872-73), портреты Томаса Карлайла ["Thomas Carlyle"] (1873), Сесилии Александер ["Miss Cecily Alexander"] (1873) и др. В 1930 избран в национальную Галерею славы [ Hall of Fame]English-Russian dictionary of regional studies > Whistler, James Abbott McNeil
