Juncus pallidus (tussock rush, giant rush, leafless rush)<TUSSRUS.JPG">Tall dense tufted herb growing to 1.75m high. Found in lowland swamps throughout NZ. Flowers are in large, dense, pale clusters towards the end of the stems. Juncus pallidus grows throughout New Zealand (and also in Australia), especially near the coast. Juncus pallidus is found in wet pasture and in dune hollows - it is able to survive some salinity.
