18 lately
Значение lately синонимично сочетаниям for/in the last/past few weeks (months, days):A lot has happened in the last few weeks/lately — Многое произошло за последние несколько недель.
Have you done any painting lately? —
I don't know what has come over her lately — she is so gloomy —
I have been trying to get in touch with you lately (for the past few days) —
I haven't seen him lately.
I've recently reread the book.
Recently a performance of this drama was renewed.
Recently и newly относят уже завершенное событие к недавнему прошлому, но не включают момента речи и синонимичны словосочетаниям a short time ago, not long ago, a little while ago (back). It was only recently (a short time ago, not long ago) that he got a police warning about dangerous driving — Совсем недавно полиция его предупредила о нарушении правил езды.
Newly обычно употребляется только атрибутивно с причастиями прошедшего времени:newly painted fence — свежевыкрашенный забор;
newly elected members — недавно избранные члены;
newly made — только что сделанный;
newly born — новорожденный.
