(1878-1949) Адамс, Джеймс ТраслоуИсторик. В 1900-12 работал в брокерской конторе на Нью-Йоркской фондовой бирже [ New York Stock Exchange]. Во время первой мировой войны служил в разведке. Значительная часть работ посвящена истории Новой Англии [ New England]. Наиболее известный труд - "Американская эпопея" ["The Epic of America"] (1931). За книгу "Основание Новой Англии" ["The Founding of New England"] (1921), посвященную как социальным вопросам, так и критике пуританской идеологии [Puritanism], удостоен Пулитцеровской премии [ Pulitzer Prize]. Среди других трудов - "Новая Англия в революционного периода: 1691-1776" ["Revolutionary New England, 1691-1776"] (1923), "Новая Англия в составе США: 1776-1850" ["New England in the Republic, 1776-1850"] (1926), "Наша деловая цивилизация" ["Our Business Civilization"] (1929), "Большой бизнес в демократическом обществе" ["Big Business in a Democracy"] (1945), работы о массачусетской династии Адамсов и Британской империи.
