За да се користи овој драјвер мора да се наоѓа во фајлот CONFIG.SYS. Ако користите мајкрософт виндоус (Microsoft Windows), при инсталирање програмот Setup автоматски го инсталира фајлот HIMEM.SYS во постоечкиот фајл CONFIG.SYS на тврдиот диск.
