Das Bureau of Indian Affairs ist eine Regierungsbehörde der USA, die sich um alle Belange der Nachkommen der amerikanischen Urbevölkerung kümmert. 1824 wurde sie als Teil des Kriegsministeriums eingerichtet und war ursprünglich für die Verwaltung der Indianerreservate verantwortlich. Heute ist sie dem Innenministerium unterstellt, sieht ihre Hauptaufgabe im Schutz des indianischen Landes und seiner Ressourcen und arbeitet mit der Urbevölkerung zusammen, um deren Lebensbedingungen zu verbessern. Dabei werden zum Beispiel Gesundheits- und Sozialpläne erstellt sowie Ausbildungs- und Arbeitsplätze geschaffen.
