(GILT) (первоклассная ценная бумага) Ценная бумага с фиксированной процентной ставкой (fixed interest security) или облигация, выпущенные британским правительством в форме облигации Казначейства (Exchequer stocks) или Министерства финансов (Treasury stocks). Первоклассные ценные бумаги относятся к наиболее надежным формам инвестирования, поскольку правительство практически всегда аккуратно выплачивает и проценты, и возмещение. Эти ценные бумаги могут быть погашаемыми и непогашаемыми (см.: Consols (консоли)). Погашаемые первоклассные ценные бумаги (redeemable gilts) делятся на долгосрочные первоклассные ценные бумаги (long-dated gilts) со сроком погашения свыше 15 лет (или longs), среднесрочные первоклассные ценные бумаги (medium-dated gills) со сроком погашения от 5 до 15 лет (или mediums) и краткосрочные первоклассные ценные бумаги (short-dated gilts) со сроком погашения до 5 лет (или shorts). Как большая часть ценных бумаг с фиксированной процентной ставкой, первоклассные ценные бумаги чувствительны не только к колебаниям процентной ставки, но и к показателям инфляции. Это заставило правительство в 1970е гг. ввести индексированные первоклассные ценные бумаги (index-linked gilts), выплата процентов по которым определенным образом связана с темпами инфляции. Большая часть первоклассных ценных бумаг выпускается стоимостью по 100 ф. ст. Если по ним выплачивается высокий процент (выше текущей ставки процента), бумага в 100 ф. ст. с момента своего выпуска до срока погашения может стоить больше, чем 100 ф. ст., даже если она будет погашена всего за 100 ф. ст. Первоклассные ценные бумаги, приобретенные через биржевого брокера или через банк, заносятся в Регистр ценных бумаг Банка Англии (?ank of England Stock Register).
