Cu-Zn сплав с добавками Рb. Предложен в 1832 г. англ. инж. Дж. Мунцем (G. Muntz). Обладает высокими механич. св-вами и корроз. стойкостью в сочетаний с хорошей обрабатываемостью резанием. В России м.-м. наз. свинц. латунь ЛС59-1, содерж. 57-60 % Сu, 0,8-1,9 % Рb (ост. Zn). Выпускается в виде прутков, полос, лент, проволоки, труб. Применяется во многих областях машино- и приборостроения для изгот. деталей масс. произ-ва.
