אֵרוּסִין, אֵירוּסִיןm. pl. (אָרַס) betrothal, preliminary act of marriage, answering to the Roman sponsalia; promise in marriage, disting. fr. נישואין, or כניסה, marriage proper, the latter consisting in conducting the bride to the grooms permanent (or improvised) home.
