NOTE 1 – A transmission line is characterized by minimum low losses due to radiation.
NOTE 2 – The term "transmission line" and the word "line" with a qualifier are frequently restricted to a line used for guiding electromagnetic waves in the TEM mode, commonly a two-wire or coaxial arrangement of conductors.

NOTE 1 – Une ligne de transmission est caractérisée par de faibles pertes par rayonnement.
NOTE 2 – L'expression "ligne de transmission" et le mot "ligne" dans un terme composé désignent souvent de façon restrictive une ligne destinée à guider des ondes électromagnétiques dans le mode TEM, ordinairement un ensemble de deux fils parallèles ou de deux conducteurs coaxiaux.
