Джон Стюарт Милль
Английский философ и экономист. Основные идеи Милля изложены в его труде «Принципы политической экономии и некоторое их приложение к социальной философии» (1848 г.). Милль был сторонником как социальных реформ, так и свободного предпринимательства и полагал, что государственная политика перераспределения доходов способна улучшить материальное благосостояние людей. Ученый был первым, кто выдвинул идею о том, что отсутствие у людей возможности получить образование приводит к появлению в обществе неконкурентоспособных групп населения, заработная плата которых значительно ниже по сравнению с другими категориями работников.Новый англо-русский словарь-справочник.
