I "solicitors" di solito forniscono assistenza legale in materia di compravendita di immobili, testamenti, recupero crediti e istanze di divorzio e ci si può rivolgere a loro direttamente. Alcuni sono qualificati a rappresentare i propri assistiti sia nelle cause civili che in quelle penali.
