Beute, praeda (jede B., die man im Kriege macht u. wegführt, zunächst Vieh u. Menschen [vollst. praeda bellica]; auch uneig. = Raub, Gewinn, dah. verb. quaestus praedaque). – rapina (Raub, geraubtes Gut). – manubiae (zunächst das aus der Beute gelöste Geld; dann der Anteil des Feldherrn an der Beute). – mit B. beladen, s. beutebeladen. – zur B. gehören, ex praeda esse: B. machen, praedari; praedam od. praedas facere; praedam od. praedas agere (an Menschen u. Vieh, auch mit dem Zus. hominum pecorumque): von jmd. B. machen, praedam facere ab alqo; praedam capere de alqo: große, reiche B. machen, magnā praedā potiri; magnas praedas facere, von jmd., ab alqo (dieses auch = von jmd. reichlichen Gewinn ziehen): auf Beute ausgehen, ausziehen, praedatum exire: jmdm. zur Beute werden, alqd praedae od. in praedam alci cedit: die B. jmds. sein, alci praedae esse: jmdm. eine gewisse Beute sein, certam alci esse praedam. – beutebeladen, praedā onustus. – praedā plenus, plenissimus (mit Beute reichlich versehen). – praedā gravis (beuteschwer). – Beutegeld, a) als erbeutetes Geld: pecunia praedata. – b) als aus der Beute gelöstes Geld (Erlös der Beute): manubiae; od. umschr. pecunia ex venditione praedae redacta; pecunia ex praeda vendita contracta; pecunia, quae ex venditione praedae percepta est.
