Однако намерение Хендерсона создать собственную колонию [ proprietary colony] Трансильвания натолкнулось на сопротивление многих поселенцев. Этим попыткам положили конец власти колоний Вирджиния и Северная Каролина, в пределы которых, по хартии короля, входила и Трансильвания.
