  • 23 Werker, Alfred Louis

    1896-1975
Nacido en Dentwood, Dakota del Sur, profesional de Hollywood desde finales de los anos diez como ayudante de direccion, y desde mediados de los veinte como realizador. Ni excesivamente creativo ni demasiado rutinario, Alfred Louis Werker fue, basicamente, un hombre de la Fox. Sus peliculas, unas cincuenta, por lo general de genero, se dejan ver con agrado. La mejor de todas ellas, Orden: caza sin cuartel (He Walked by Night, 1948), debe mas al talento creador de Anthony Mann, que no figura acreditado como director, que al suyo propio. Werker se retiro del cine en 1957.
Last of the Duanes. 1930. 62 minutos. Blanco y Negro. Fox. George O’Brien, Myrna Loy, Lucile Brown.
Fair Warning (Cita tragica). 1931. 74 minutos. Blanco y Negro. Fox. George O’Brien, Louise Huntington, George Brent.
The Gay Caballero (Audaz y galante). 1932. 60 minutos. Blanco y Negro. Fox. George O’Brien, Conchita Montenegro, Victor McLaglen.
Wild and Woolly. 1937. 65 minutos. Blanco y Negro. Fox. Jane Withers, Walter Brennan, Pauline Moore.
Pirates of Monterey (Piratas de Monterrey). 1947. 77 minutos. Technicolor. Universal. Maria Montez, Rod Cameron, Gilbert Roland.
The Last Posse. 1953. 73 minutos. Blanco y Negro. Columbia. Broderick Crawford, John Derek, Charles Bickford, Wanda Hendrix.
Devil’s Canyon (Noche salvaje). 1953. 92 minutos. Technicolor. 3-D. RKO. Dale Robertson, Virginia Mayo, Stephen McNally.
Three Hours to Kill (Tres horas para vivir). 1954. 77 minutos. Technicolor. Columbia. Dana Andrews, Donna Reed, Dianne Foster.
Canyon Crossroads. 1955. 83 minutos. Blanco y Negro. UA. Richard Basehart, Phyllis Kirk, Stephen Elliott.
At Gunpoint (Asi mueren los valientes). 1955. 81 minutos. Technicolor. CinemaScope. Allied. Fred MacMurray, Dorothy Malone, Walter Brennan.
Rebel in Town (Rebeldes en la ciudad). 1956. 78 minutos. Blanco y Negro. Bel-Air (UA). John Payne, Ruth Roman, J. Carrol Naish.
