1916-2001Empieza en el cine en Nueva York, primero para Universal, luego para Fox, en trabajos que no tenian nada que ver con la produccion de peliculas. Entre 1944 y 1953 fue segundo ayudante de direccion y ayudante de direccion de peliculas como Las llaves del reino (The Keys of the Kingdom, John M. Stahl, 1944). En 1953 empieza a producir y dirigir peliculas. El primero de estos cometidos le ocupo, y brillantemente, el resto de su vida; el segundo, de forma mucho menos destacada, solo hasta 1973, si consideramos unicamente largometrajes para ser estrenados en salas de cine.Fort Bowie. 1958. 80 minutos.
