Закон о судопроизводстве (принят в Новом Южном Уэльсе в 1823, первый шаг к представительному правительству в Австралии. Был введён совещательный законодательный совет {Legislative Council}, состоявший из 5–7 членов, назначавшихся губернатором, за кот. сохранялось право предлагать проекты закона, кот. могли быть утверждены при поддержке только одного его члена. Этим актом вводился также суд присяжных для гражданских дел и обеспечивалось отделение Земли Ван Димена от Нового Южного Уэльса с собственным губернатором и совещательным советом.
