1905-1966James Edward Grant es uno de los grandes guionistas de Holly wood que, como tantos otros, probo el sabor de la direccion. Lo hizo en dos ocasiones, la primera de ellas con este western ejemplar, sintesis de no pocas virtudes del genero. Si se revisan las peliculas que se pueden asociar, como director o, preferentemente, como guionista a Grant, percibimos de inmediato una cosa: la presencia frecuente de su gran amigo John Wayne en ellas, sean o no westerns.
