19 -agenda o diary?-
Nota d'usoIl sostantivo inglese agenda non è un corrispettivo dell'italiano “agenda”. In inglese questa parola significa “ordine del giorno”, “programma”: Are you happy with the agenda?, vi va bene l'ordine del giorno? L'“agenda” italiana in inglese è diary: I'll look in my diary, guarderò nella mia agenda. -
20 -fog o foggy?-
Nota d'usoIn inglese, quando si parla delle condizioni meteorologiche, bisogna utilizzare gli aggettivi appropriati, come ad esempio “sunny”, “cloudy”, “foggy” ecc.: C'era la nebbia, it was foggy. Non è corretto tradurre letteralmente la costruzione italiana con there was (the) fog.
