[si:pi:ju:] shkurtim për Central Processing Unit - njësi qendrore e procesimit (përpunimit) e cila quhet procesor apo mikroprocesor. Procesori është një tërësi e qarqeve të integruara elektronike (çip). Procesori (apo mikroprocesori) paraqet "trurin e komjuterit" dhe nga një herë quhet edhe njësi procesore qëndrore CPU. Udhëheq dhe drejton me të gjitha operacionet për përpunim të të dhënave.PROCESORIProcesori (apo mikroprocesori) paraqet trurin e kompjuterit dhe nga një herë quhet edhe njësi procesore qëndrore CPU ( Central Processing Unit). Procesori përposë në kompjuter, përdoret edhe në orët digjitale, në televizor, pajisjet audivizuele, instrumente matëse, në kalkulatorët e xhepit etj. Procesori është i vendosur në një pllakzë të hollë siliciumi me të gjitha komponentet e tij e që janë:● Njësia e adresave AU ( Adressing Unit);● Njësia ekzekutive EU ( Execution Unit);● Njësia e instruksioneve IU ( Instruction Unit);● Njësia e magjistrales BU ( Bus Unit) etj.Nga procesori del magjistralja e adresave ( Adress Bus) dhe magjistralja e të dhënave ( Daten Bus). Komponentet e procesorit përmbajnë me qinda mijë tranzistorë të lidhur në qarqet e integruara elektrike të cilët i formojnë njësitë e kujtesës. Procesorët, pa dallim, punojnë në parimin e sistemit binar të numrave, ku numrave logjik 0 dhe 1 u korrespondojnë tensionet elektrike prej 0 dhe 5 volt (tani edhe 3,3 V). Procesori i ka disa detyra:* Përpunimi i të dhënave është detyra themelore e procesorit (njësisë procesore qëndrore) nga dhe është emërtuar. Me përpunimin e të dhënave nënkuptohen veprimet logjike dhe matematike me të gjitha veprimet tjera përcjellëse, siç janë p. sh. operacionet e ndërlikuara matematikore, renditja e të dhënave sipas kritereve të caktuara, përshkrimi, kopjimi, bartja, arkivimi i të dhënave etj.* Mbikqyrja dhe harmonizimi i veprimeve të sistemit është detyra tjetër themelore e procesorit. Gjatë punës së kompjuterit vihen dhe hiqen, sipas nevojes, pajisje të ndryshme, disa nga ato punojnë në të njëjtën kohë, prandaj harmonizimi i veprimeve të tyre është më se i domosdoshëm.Vetia themelore e një procesori është fuqia e tij me të cilën nënkuptohet aftësia që të kryejë sa më shumë veprime në përpunimin e të dhënave. Në fuqinë e një procesori të caktuar ndikojnë disa faktorë, ndër të cilët janë:● Kapaciteti i procesorit;● Shpejtësia e procesorit;● Takti i procesorit;● Frekuenca e takt gjeneratorit;● Arkitektura e ndërtimit të vetë procesorit.Takti i procesorit është njëri ndër faktorët më me rëndësi që ndikon në fuqinë e tij. Në kompjuter është e ndërtuar një fare "ore" e quajtur gjenerator i taktit. Përpunimi i të dhënave në procesor bëhet në takte. Një veprim i caktuar në përpunimin e të dhënave kryhet brenda një takti.Frekuenca e taktit e procesorit paraqet numrin e takteve të bërë nga ana e takt gjeneratorit në njësinë e kohës. Veprimet në procesor, siç u tha më sipër, kryhen në takte të caktuara. Kryerja e një veprimi bëhet brenda një takti. Sa më i madh të jetë numri i takteve në ketë njësi, aq më e shpejtë dhe më e fuqishme do të jetë ajo. Kjo frekuencë shprehet në njësinë MHz. Koha e zgjatjes së një takti është e barabartë me vlerën reciproke të frekuencës.Procesori që nga krijimi i tij i parë gjithënjë është përsosur dhe vazhdon të përsoset. Ka filluar p.sh. me 25 000 tranzistorë, me frekuencë 0,25 MHz, me magjistrale 4 bitëshe në vitin 1992 e sot prodhohen me 3 100 000 tranzistorë e më shumë, me frekuence 330 MHz, me magjistrale 64 bitëshe. Fjala procesorike paraqet numrin e bitëve që mund t'i përpunojë procesori brenda një takti që është faktori tjetër me rëndësi, i cili përcakton fuqinë e procesorit. Procesorët e pare kanë mundur ta përpunojnë në një takt fjalën procesorike prej 8 bitë, prandaj janë 8 bitësh; procesorët e llojit 80286 kanë mundur ta përpunojnë brenda një takti fjalën procesorike prej 16 bitë, prandaj janë 16 bitësh; procesorët e llojit 80386 dhe 80486 kanë mundur ta përpunojnë brenda një takti tjalen procesorike prej 32 bitë, prandaj janë 32 bitësh dhe procesori pentium (80586) mund ta përpunojë në një takt fjalën procesorike prej 64 bitë, prandaj është 64 bitësh.Sa i takon prodhuesit, sot procesorë prodhojnë disa firma me fame botërore siç janë: Intel, AMD, Cyrix dhe IBM.Shpejtësia e procesorit paraqet numrin e instrukcioneve që ai mund ta përpunojë në njësinë e kohës. Njësia ndërkombëtare e shpejtësisë së procesorit është milion instrukcione në sekondë, simboli MIPS ( Milion Instructions Per Second). Sot prodhohen PC që kanë procesorë me shpejtësi të përpunimit të instrukcioneve prej nga disa kilomipsa (kMIPS).Kooprocesorët janë procesorë të posaçëm, të cilët montohen në pllakëzën amë me qëllim të kryerjes së operacioneve të ndryshme matematikore, me ç'rast e çlirojnë procesorin kryesor për veprime tjera. Simbolet e kooprocesorëve bazohen në simbolet e procesorëve kryesorë, kështu që procesorit 8 bitësh, 8086, i korrespondon kooprocesori, 8087; procesorit 16 bitësh 80186 i korrespondon kooprocesori 80187; procesorit 16 bitësh, 80286, i korrespondon kooprocesori 80287; procesorit 32 bitësh, 80386, i korrespondon kooprocesori 80387 dhe procesorit 32 bitësh, 80486, i korrespondon kooprocesori 80487. Pentiumi nuk ka kooprocesor të ndarë, pasi vetë i kryen edhe kalkulimet matematikore.Njësia kontrolluese është një pjesë e pllakzës amë e cila ka për detyrë që t'i kotrollojë punën e veprimet e procesorit. Kjo njësi e njeh çdo program, kujdeset që ai të realizohet dhe pas kryerjes së tij të kujdeset për programet apo komandat tjera deri sa të kryhen të gjitha kërkesat e dërguara. Po ashtu kjo njësi kujdeset edhe për përcjelljen e të dhënave në printer apo ndonjë njësi tjetër periterike.Disk kontrolleri ( Disk Controller) është një kartelë me detyrë që të bëjë kontrollimin e komunikimit të kompjuterit me ngasësit e disketave, diskut dhe CD-ROM-it. Secila njësi e diskut, disketës apo CD-ROM-it e ka kontrollerin e vetë. Sot përdoren shumë lloje të këtyre kontrolluesëve sikurse janë IDE, EISA etj.Kartelat hyrëse/dalëse ( Input/Output - I/O card) mundësojnë lidhjen serike apo paralele të pajisjeve periferike me njësinë qëndrore. Dallojmë kartelat hyrëse për miun, modemin, tastierën, skenerin, monitorin, printerin, ploterin etj.Magjistralja ( Bus) është një farë "kanali" i përbërë prej një tërsie përçuesish nëpër të cilët kalojnë informatat brenda strukturës së procesorit apo nga procesori kah komponentet tjera të kompjuterit. Duke patur parasysh se frekuenca e taktit të procesorëve bashkëkohorë dita ditës zmadhohet, atëherë magjistralja paraqet një fyt të ngusht në punën e kompjuterit, për shkak se të dhënat e përpunuara nuk mund të barten në harmoni me shpejtësinë e përpunimit të tyre në procesor, prandaj nuk shfrytëzohet fuqia e procesorit dhe kompjuteri bëhet i ngadalshëm. Sot ekziston numër i konsiderueshëm i magjistraleve, por çmimi i tyre ende është i lartë. Në shumicën e kompjuterëve personal është ndërtuar magjistralja e quajtur ISA ( Industrial Standard Architecture), të cilën e ka prodhuar IBM për kompjuterët AT(286). Magjistralja EISA ( Enhanced Industrial Standard Architecture), e cila bart dy here më shumë të dhëna se ISA. Magjistralja e të dhënave {Data Bus) është një tërësi e përçuesëve që shërben për bartjen e sinjaleve elektrike të të dhënave. P. sh. kompjuterët 16 bitësh kanë magjistralen prej 16 përçuesëve. Magjistralja e adresave ( Address Bus) është një tërësi e përçuesëve që shërben për bartjen e sinjaleve elektrike, të cilët paraqesin adresa. Magjistralja MCA ( Micro Chanel Architecture) shërben për kompjuterët e gjeneratës 386 dhe të kompjuterëve PS/2. Magjistralja lokale ( Local Bus) është e lidhur drejtëpërsëdrejti në procesor. Ekzitojnë edhe shumë magjistrale si VESA ose VL-Bus, e cila mundëson instalimin e modemit, PCI, e cila ndërtohet në pllakëzat amë të procesorëve Pentium etj. Kapaciteti i të dhënave që mund të transmetohen me këto magjistrale mund të jetë 8, 16, 32 dhe 64 bitëshe. -
