Ошибочное представление о том, что увеличение номинальных величин способствует их реальному росту. На самом деле общий рост цен (инфляция) ведет к снижению реальной покупательной способности дохода (реальной зарплаты). Некоторые люди считают, что их жизненный уровень повышается, если увеличивается их номинальная заработная плата, не учитывая при этом текущего уровня инфляции. Однако большинство людей правильно оценивают свои доходы в условиях инфляции и стараются принять меры, чтобы предотвратить или уменьшить ее негативные последствия.
