Группа смазочных материалов, использ. при прокатке, прессовании, волочении, свободной ковке, объемной и листовой штамповке черных и цв. металлов для облегчения их деформации и улучшения кач-ва обрабат. поверхности. К технич. относят также масла, примен. при закалке стали, и композиции, к-рыми смазывают литейные формы. В качестве м. т. применяют гл. обр. смеси масел, животных и растит, жиров, мыл на основе высших жирных кислот.

Petroleum belongs to non-renewable energy sources; it is a complex substance derived from the carbonized remains of trees, ferns, mosses, and other types of vegetable matter. The principal chemical constituents of oil are carbon, hydrogen, and sulphur. The various fuels made from crude oil are jet fuel, gasoline, kerosine, diesel fuel, and heavy fuel oils.
