Increase Mather — Инкрис Мезер (1639 — 1723), американский священник и богослов крайних пуританских убеждений. Мезер сыграл весьма неприглядную роль в инспирировании судилища над «ведьмами», которое проходило в Сейлеме, штат Массачусетс, в 1692 г. Из 150 человек, обвиненных в колдовстве, 19 были казнены через повешение за «связь с дьяволом».
