хеджирование
Страхование участников коммерческой сделки от потерь, связанных с возможным изменением цен за время ее реализации. Заключая на фьючерсном рынке контракт, хеджер договаривается с контрагентом о поставке своего товара по заранее фиксированной цене. Таким образом сокращается неопределенность будущих платежей и поступлений средств для его фирмы. В тех случаях, когда необходимо застраховаться от возможного повышения цен (курсов) в будущем, Х. позволяет установить покупную цену намного раньше, чем будет приобретен реальный товар (валюта). Это называется хеджирование на повышение (hedging on increase) — биржевая операция по покупке срочных контрактов (форвардных) или опционов. Напротив, хеджирование на понижение (hedging on downturn) страхует от возможного снижения цены.
