Например, налог на добавленную стоимость (НДС) (value added tax (VAT)) платится продавцами, но вся его тяжесть в конце концов ложится на потребителей товаров и услуг. Или: компания может уплачивать налог на корпорации, но если она после этого поднимает цены или сокращает заработную плату своих работников, чтобы компенсировать налог, можно говорить о том, что она переложила его бремя.
