33 cracker-barrel humor
Название происходит от бочонка (или ящика) с галетами [cracker-barrel, cracker-box], занимавшего видное место в лавке [ general store] в любом американском городке. Лавка традиционно считалась центром общественной жизни в поселениях Новой Англии [ New England] и других частей Америки времен освоения страны переселенцами. Здесь собирались, чтобы обменяться новостями, сплетнями и мыслями о жизни вообще "доморощенные философы" - люди неученые, но умудренные жизненным опытом.
