Разговорное выражение, обозначающее special constable. Special constables (специальные констебли) помогают полиции в экстренных случаях и работают в свободное время на добровольной основе. Они призываются на помощь в случае возникновения гражданских беспорядков и т. п. Хотя они выполняют важную работу и освобождают обычных полицейских от таких заданий, как направить поток машин в объезд, их коллеги-профессионалы относятся к ним свысока, подсмеиваются над ними, т. к. они работают время от времени (part time), как бы играя в полицейских, а не полностью посвящают себя этой опасной профессии.
