Las yeguas por otra parte se ponen haciendo un corro, y con las patas delanteras y sus dentames se defienden de tal manera que les es casi imposible a las feroces alimañas darlos caza, a no ser cuando cogen a un potrillo u otro animal sólo. De todas las maneras los lobos son muy, astutos, y para vencer el corro defensivo que preparan las caballerías ellos usan algunas artimañas y una de las más corrientes es esta.
