לֶכְתָּאf. (הֲלַךְ) going, thrusting forward, ל׳ ומֵיתָנָא thrusting forward and pulling home, a bolt or pin attached to a cord for fastening the panniers, barrels which hang down on each side of the beast of burden. Sabb.102a לל׳ ומ׳ it applies to thrusting a bolt which you can pull back by the cord in your hand; (Rashi reads: מִתְנָא rope.Ib. 154b א״נ בל׳ (Ar. some ed. בלִיכָאתָא pl.) or when the burdens are fastened with a bolt (which you can pull out without touching the animal). -
