(финансовая компания) Организация, обычно принадлежащая коммерческому банку (commercial bank), которая предоставляет средства для договоров о покупках в рассрочку (hire-purchase agreements). Потребитель, покупающий что-то очень дорогое (например автомобиль) и не желающий платить наличными, заключает договор о покупке в рассрочку с финансовой компанией, которая получает задаток и очередные взносы. Финансовая компания платит продавцу полную цену продажи за наличные, занимая для этого средства у коммерческих банков. Источником дохода финансовой компании является разница между низким процентом, который она выплачивает коммерческим банкам, и высоким процентом, который она получает с покупателя. Большая часть финансовых компаний входит в Ассоциацию финансовых компаний (Finance Houses Association). -

(базовая процентная ставка финансовых компаний) Процентная ставка, взимаемая финансовой компанией (" finance house) при совершении операций по покупке в рассрочку (hire purchase), лизингу (leasing) и др.
