(das heroische Zeitalter). – mehr der M. als der Geschichte angehören, propiorem esse fabulae quam historiae: jmds. Ursprung gehört in die M., alcis origo ultra memoriam iacet: jmds. Namen in dieunbeglaubigte M. versetzen, alcis nomen ad errorem fabulae traducere.
