Не местный для данной страны, экосистемы или экозоны (применяется к организмам, целенаправленно или случайно интродуцированным в результате человеческой деятельности). Поскольку Код рассматривает интродукцию агентов биологической борьбы из одной страны в другую, термин «экзотический» используется в нём для организмов, не местных для данной страны (МСФМ № 3, 1996).
