קִעְקֵעַII (transpos. of עקעק, v. עוּק; cmp. גִּעְגֵּעַ) 1) to engrave (cmp. חָקַק); to etch in. Macc.III, 6 כתב ולא ק׳ ק׳ … וִיקַעְקֵעַ if he writes (on his skin) but makes no impression, or makes an impression but does not write, he is not guilty (of trespassing the law, Lev. 19:28) until he writes and stamps with ink ; Sifra Kdoshim, Par. 3, ch.
