В составе э. к. м. б. интегрированы произ-во газообр. энергоносителя из дешевых и возобновляемых источников энергии: воды, биотоплива, в т. ч. энергетич. некокс, углей, торфа, древесных отходов — путем их газификации; металлургич. переделы: прямое восстановление, восстановит. плавка, произ-во порошков металлов, соединений и композитов и др.; химическое произ-во, напр, метанола, аммиака, минеральных удобрений и т.п.
