(Run-Length Encoding) кодирование длин серий, RLE-кодированиеметод сжатия без потерь данных, при котором в файле выделяются последовательные данные (серии), состоящие из одинаковых элементов; каждая такая серия заменяется на два символа: элемент и число его повторений. Возможно применение метода для одного символа, нескольких заданных символов или для всех символов алфавита. Применяется, в частности, в факсимильных аппаратах
