Кестнер Эрих (1899-1974), поэт, писатель, киносценарист. Его книги были запрещены и сожжены нацистским режимом. Автор оставался в это время в Германии, писал романы, переводы, детские книги, стал связующим звеном между внутренней и внешней эмиграцией. Его произведения отличают утончённый стиль и особый юмор, просветительство, романтизм, вера в победу разума (роман "Фабиан"). Называл себя "правнуком немецкого Просвещения" ("Urenkel der deutschen Aufklärung"). Многие строки его стихов стали крылатыми словами: "Denkt an das 5. Gebot, schlagt eure Zeit nicht tot!" (пятая заповедь "Не убий" – "Du sollst nicht töten"). Мировую известность принесли автору детские книги "Близнецы", "Эмиль и сыщики". В годы после Первой мировой войны пишет в русле "новой вещественности": "Сердце на талии", "Шум в зеркале", "Лирическая домашняя аптека". В стихотворении "Повседневный романс" он изображает любовь и её потерю как некое будничное дело: "Als sie einander acht Jahre kannten / (und man darf sagen: sie kannten sich gut) / kam ihre Liebe plötzlich abhanden / wie andern Leuten ein Stock oder Hut".
