собака, и в смысле "пес", "гад", "козел" (синонимы dud, loser).Правда, козел здесь не тот, что в нашем уголовном жаргоне, такого оттенка нет.Если dog говорят о женщине, то она может быть и сердитой уродкой (ну и псина!), и игривой красавицей (привлекательная сучка! см. также FOX). Если о мужике - так это может быть и вышеупомянутый козел или жулик, а может означать и просто "паря" ( guy), часто с оттенком сексуальной агрессивности.Есть такой моральный урод на сцене - Snoop Doggy Dogg (что, кстати, прямо означает "неудачник"). Так он не просто так этот полупохабный псевдоним придумал, в нем еще есть оттенок от (*) doggystyle - т. е. секса на корячках, по-собачьи (у "артиста" и альбом есть с этим названием и даже с такой картинкой - для совсем уж тупых). И ничего. Недавно была про него статья, говорят, повзрослел и стал привносить в свои непотребные песни больше глубины ("Snoop Dogg is among the rappers putting more introspective songs into their repertoires." - "Chicago Tribune", 27.08.03). Не будем тут выражаться насчет снуповой глубины - скажем только, что она измеряется примерно тем же, что и у ряда звезд российской эстрады, "говномером". (Термин не наш. Это устройство в просторечии действительно так называется. И Галич это слово использовал). -
