Условный объем металла, удаленный или прибавленный в процессе деформации в одном из направлений формоизменения. Равен объему тела, умноженному на логарифмическую деформацию, и поэтому обладает признаком аддитивности. Используют также термины удельный смещенный объем, а также приближенный смещенный объем, определяемые через относительные деформации. Величинами смещенного объема пользуются, в частности, при определении работы деформации и расчете калибровок при прокатке.
