1. Метод, основанный на раздельном излучении и приеме упругих волн, регистрации волн, прошедших через объект контроля, и анализе параметров принятых сигналов (например: амплитуды, фазы, времени распространения и т.п). Метод реализуется с преобразователями, излучающими непрерывные или импульсные колебания.
2. Метод ультразвукового контроля, в котором качество материала оценивают по интенсивности ультразвуковой энергии, регистрируемой приемным преобразователем после ее прохождения через материал. Метод реализуется с преобразователями, излучающими непрерывные или импульсные колебания.

1. Метод, основанный на анализе эхосигналов, многократно отраженных от границ раздела сред в объекте контроля.
2. Метод, использующий многократно отраженные эхосигналы от донной поверхности или неоднородности в объекте контроля. Метод применяют для оценки:
амплитуд сигналов, когда для контроля качества материала или соединения используют амплитуды последовательных эхо-сигналов;
длины пробега ультразвуковых волн. При измерении толщины стенки применение многократных отражений повышает точность отсчета.
