2 Orleans Cloth
Also known as Lustre Orleans. It is a plain weave cloth with fine cotton warp and worsted weft. It is very closely woven and used for dress purposes. A typical cloth is made 60 ends and 140 picks per inch, 40's/56's Egyptian warp. Botany weft. This cloth was first made in 1856 by Mr. Barratt, who produced the cloth as "Summer Cloth" at the request of an American customer. He produced a plain weave cloth, diagonal twill, three-shaft twill and a crepe. -

A fabric made in Bradford, and used as a lining for dress goods. Yarns are fine cotton warp, worsted weft, either plain weave or figured, and generally dyed. Other styles have a mixture weft of cotton and alpaca. -

One of the first alpaca fabrics successfully made in England in the 19th century (1839). Woven with a cotton warp and alpaca weft. First made by Titus Salt, who at that time was the only spinner of alpaca weft in Bradford. -

A twilled rib grege warp, grege weft, dyed the same colour as the warp. Also made with polished cotton weft of another colour, arranged pick and pick.
