6 оценивается в каждом случае отдельно
Оценивается в каждом случае отдельно-- The need for thermal stabilization in other situations should be evaluated on an individual basis. Оценка - assessment, assessing, estimate, estimation, gauging; evaluation (экспериментальная); appreciation, appraisal (деятельности, достоинтсв и т.п.)Involved in this were an assessment of the nature of creep damage in terms of the creep test variables and an analysis of the implications relative to linear damage concepts. For low alloy steels the model should be especially useful for assessing remaining life in service exposed components. An estimate of the stresses that existed in the fillet was obtained from the S/N curves.Future development programs will be necessary to provide the data for the evaluation of life calculation formulations for this bearing design.BGC has initiated a design appraisal to analyze the potential areas of high unreliability. It would be unwise to attempt an appraisal of the lasting significance of recent work.

In order to ensure that the reference stress predictions give a conservative assessment, G. reviewed rupture calculations. The experimental temperature measurements are in good general agreement with results of a thermal analysis of the bearing. The optional method of analyzing a class 2 assembly accounts for the interaction of the two flanges. It served the purpose in terms of improving mass flow versus pressure ratio projections. Many computations are still made using static data.Расчёт на - design for; design against (при этом указывается вид разрушения)Design against creep-fatigue represents the severest challenge to the designer.Расчёт по-- Because of uncertainties in predicting fatigue life from specific film thickness [...], the lubrication life factor as a function of A was recommended to be between the mean curves from [...].—простое уравнение для расчёта по—тщательно разделять результаты расчётов, основанных на... и наРусско-английский научно-технический словарь переводчика > расчёт

Означать - to mean, to imply, to infer, to connote, to involve, to make sense (говорить о); to stand for, to refer to (о сокращениях); to denote (означать собой); to represent (о значках, буквах); to translate into (обуславливать)Do the measured results infer a risk of brittle fracture in large structures?Peaking service connotes rapid response, high number of cycles and low operating hours per year. Peaking power also means pressure for minimum first cost.A particular choice involves favoring one design criterion over another. This interaction of failure modes implies the exhaustion of creep life once the critical creep-initiated crack has occurred.Multi Just stands for Multiple Justification.Throughout this guide, "Qbasic" refers to MS-DOS Qbasic.EMIS stands for Electronic Materials Information Service.Examination denotes the performance of all visual observations and nondestructive tests. The asterisk represents the factory setting.Low values of M represent a lower likelihood of flutter.Improved combustion chamber insulation translates into less heat removal through the engine and more heat energy converted into useful work.Русско-английский научно-технический словарь переводчика > означать

9 уменьшение
Уменьшение (чего-либо) - reduction in, decrease in, drop in, diminution in, decline in; sacrifice in (нежелательное); decrease of, reduction of, decay of, loss of; reducing, sacrificing; abatement (ослабление интенсивности); improvement (приводящее к улучшению)Figs.... show the drop in pump speed after power failure as calculated by TAHS compared with the measured field test data.If the operational temperature is in the creep regime, creep results in a time-dependent diminution in stress.A decline in the availability of petroleum fuels is projected to occur in the 1980's and accelerate throughout the 1990's.Some improvement is desirable if it can be obtained without much sacrifice in abradeabilty. It is hoped that the information presented above will prove useful to those who try to design more efficient rotating machinery without sacrificing reliability.Reducing the scope of measurements does not eliminate the requirements for paper cycle isolation.EPA expects that the meeting will prove to be its most extensive information exchange activity in iron and steel pollution abatement (... в области уменьшения загрязнения атмосферы предприятиями сталелитейной промышленности).The switch from centrifugal to axial compression at 1350-1800 t/d yields a very small cost improvement.Уменьшение на-- The chromium carbide gave a slight temperature reduction of 21°C.Русско-английский научно-технический словарь переводчика > уменьшение

10 учитываться
Учитываться - to consider, to recognize, to include, to incorporate, to accommodate, to enter, to allow for, to make allowance for, to take account of, to take into account, to be accounted for, to be factored; to bear in mind; to use the fact, to be reckoned withAlthough an allowance was made for the displacement of the effective center of the pitot probe, no correction was applied to take account of the effects of turbulence.Allowance shall be made for flanges where necessary.Under these conditions the stalled flow model would have to be modified to take this pressure drop into account, as shown schematically in Fig.This correlation includes the geometry of the machine, known a priori, and has been shown valid for two widely different types of geometry. The understanding of the hazards leading to the problems has been incorporated in the design of this new generation of turbine.A more promising approach is to consider creep crack growth rate in terms of some parameter that recognizes the incremental nature of the creep crack growth process. These modifications had been found to be necessary to accommodate the non-uniform plastic flow of the workpiece teeth during the rolling operation. Therefore, for the processes considered here, of relatively small physical extent, the effects of the pressure changes will be ignored, only the level enters.Any modeling of the total process must bear this in mind.Русско-английский научно-технический словарь переводчика > учитываться

20 Parsons, Sir Charles Algernon
[br]b. 13 June 1854 London, Englandd. 11 February 1931 on board Duchess of Richmond, Kingston, Jamaica[br]English eingineer, inventor of the steam turbine and developer of the high-speed electric generator.[br]The youngest son of the Earl of Rosse, he came from a family well known in scientific circles, the six boys growing up in an intellectual atmosphere at Birr Castle, the ancestral home in Ireland, where a forge and large workshop were available to them. Charles, like his brothers, did not go to school but was educated by private tutors of the character of Sir Robert Ball, this type of education being interspersed with overseas holiday trips to France, Holland, Belgium and Spain in the family yacht. In 1871, at the age of 17, he went to Trinity College, Dublin, and after two years he went on to St John's College, Cambridge. This was before the Engineering School had opened, and Parsons studied mechanics and mathematics. In 1877 he was apprenticed to W.G.Armstrong \& Co. of Elswick, where he stayed for four years, developing an epicycloidal engine that he had designed while at Cambridge. He then moved to Kitson \& Co. of Leeds, where he went half shares in a small experimental shop working on rocket propulsion for torpedoes. In 1887 he married Katherine Bethell, who contracted rheumatic fever from early-morning outdoor vigils with her husband to watch his torpedo experiments while on their honeymoon! He then moved to a partnership in Clarke, Chapman \& Co. at Gateshead. There he joined the electrical department, initially working on the development of a small, steam-driven marine lighting set. This involved the development of either a low-speed dynamo, for direct coupling to a reciprocating engine, or a high-speed engine, and it was this requirement that started Parsons on the track of the steam turbine. This entailed many problems such as the running of shafts at speeds of up to 40,000 rpm and the design of a DC generator for 18,000 rpm. He took out patents for both the turbine and the generator on 23 April 1884. In 1888 he dissolved his partnership with Clarke, Chapman \& Co. to set up his own firm in Newcastle, leaving his patents with the company's owners. This denied him the use of the axial-flow turbine, so Parsons then designed a radial-flow layout; he later bought back his patents from Clarke, Chapman \& Co. His original patent had included the use of the steam turbine as a means of marine propulsion, and Parsons now set about realizing this possibility. He experimented with 2 ft (61 cm) and 6 ft (183 cm) long models, towed with a fishing line or, later, driven by a twisted rubber cord, through a single-reduction set of spiral gearing. The first trials of the Turbinia took place in 1894 but were disappointing due to cavitation, a little-understood phenomenon at the time. He used an axial-flow turbine of 2,000 shp running at 2,000 rpm. His work resulted in a far greater understanding of the phenomenon of cavitation than had hitherto existed. Land turbines of up to 350 kW (470 hp) had meanwhile been built. Experiments with the Turbinia culminated in a demonstration which took place at the great Naval Review of 1897 at Spithead, held to celebrate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. Here, the little Turbinia darted in and out of the lines of heavy warships and destroyers, attaining the unheard of speed of 34.5 knots. The following year the Admiralty placed their first order for a turbine-driven ship, and passenger vessels started operation soon after, the first in 1901. By 1906 the Admiralty had moved over to use turbines exclusively. These early turbines had almost all been direct-coupled to the ship's propeller shaft. For optimum performance of both turbine and propeller, Parsons realized that some form of reduction gearing was necessary, which would have to be extremely accurate because of the speeds involved. Parsons's Creep Mechanism of 1912 ensured that any errors in the master wheel would be distributed evenly around the wheel being cut.Parsons was also involved in optical work and had a controlling interest in the firm of Ross Ltd of London and, later, in Sir Howard Grubb \& Sons. He he was an enlightened employer, originating share schemes and other benefits for his employees.[br]Principal Honours and DistinctionsKnighted. Order of Merit 1927.Further ReadingA.T.Bowden, 1966, "Charles Parsons: Purveyor of power", in E.G.Semler (ed.), The Great Masters.
