«Титул учтивости». Аристократические титулы, существующие в Британии, достаточно запутанны. Ещё более замысловаты так называемые courtesy titles, т. е. титулы, которые даруются или присваиваются по обычаю и не дают юридических прав. «Титулы учтивости» присваиваются не по законному праву и не дают права на членство в палате лордов. «Титул учтивости» старшего сына пэра обычно является одним из более низких титулов его отца. Как правило, это второй титул. Младших сыновей герцогов и маркизов, имеющих «титул учтивости», называют Lord. Дочери герцогов, маркизов и графов нарекаются Lady. Младшие сыновья графов и все сыновья виконтов и баронов так же, как и дочери виконтов и баронов, нарекаются Honourable («почтенный», «почтенная»). «Титул учтивости» разрешается носить старшим сыновьям «учтивых» маркизов и графов. -
