* * *Конъюгация хромосом — попарное сближение сестринских хроматид гомологичных хромосом в профазе I мейоза (см. Мейоз) с образованием бивалентов (взаимостабильных структур), между которыми возможен взаимный обмен отдельными участками (рекомбинация, кроссинговер). К.х. начинается в контактных точках, чаще всего вблизи центромеры (процентрическая) или с концов хромосом (протерминальная), реже — в срединном участке плеча (медианная) или в др. точках хромосомы (нейтральная К. х.). Во всех случаях конъюгируют строго гомологичные хромомеры. Син. Синапсис.Синдез — конъюгация гомологичных хромосом в мейозе; попарное сближение сестринских хроматид гомологичных хромосом в делении I мейоза с образованием взаимостабильных структур — бивалентов, при котором может происходить рекомбинация, или кроссинговер.Англо-русский толковый словарь генетических терминов > conjugation of chromosomes
